About Me

From an early age, I realized that, my strong passion for helping others, and what became a growing interest in child & adolescent development & behavior, would some day lead me to pursue a career as a helping professional, so that I might be able to make a difference in the lives of children, teens, and families, in need.

Now, more than 15 years into my career as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, I am deeply encouraged by the fact that, the passion I had for helping others, and interest I had in working with individuals and families in need, has only continued to grow stronger, the longer I've been working in this field.

Since 2005, I've been providing a broad spectrum of specialized psychological services, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy, developmental and diagnostic assessment and evaluation, and case management and resource coordination support, in both public and private sector healthcare settings.

I've worked with children and teenagers, of all ages and diverse backgrounds, and also their parents and families, empowering them to overcome a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal challenges resulting from mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, and neurodivergent conditions, such as Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD).

The individuals and families with whom I work acquire important life skills and gain access to important resources to help them be able to more effectively advance toward achieving important personal and family goals.

What to Expect

While the goals of treatment may primarily relate to the needs of a child or a teen, experience has shown me that treatment tends to be far more effective when the family system, within which the child/teen is growing and evolving, is making an effort to grown and evolve, along with the child/teen.

For that reason, in addition to including services, such as:

  • individual therapy for the child/teen

  • resource recommendations

  • external resource referrals

the overall treatment plan will also always, to some extent, include at least one of the following:

  • family therapy

  • parent-child dyad therapy

  • parent collateral consultation

  • parenting support and education

My Approach

My approach to treatment is overall goal-driven, solution-focused, strength-based, and client-centeredI view the therapeutic process as a collaborative one, in which the therapist and client, or client family, partner together to devise strategies for making gains toward achieving a set of pre-determined, and mutually agreed upon goals.

Beginning Phase

Treatment always begins with a thorough psychosocial assessment to clarify your concerns, and what resources may, or may not be, available to help address those concerns. We'll then discuss, and agree upon, a treatment plan, which will be guided by a set of, also agreed upon, specific, measurable, and reasonably attainable, goals.

Then, drawing from each of our own unique, yet equally valuable, areas of expertise and perspectives, we'll partner together to devise a series of strategies for making meaningful advances toward achieving the treatment goals.

Middle Phase

To help us determine when we've arrived at a successful treatment outcome, throughout the course of treatment, we will continuously evaluate for progress.  Once we determine that the treatment goals have been adequately achieved, we can conclude the treatment, with an understanding that, should something change or should new concerns arise, you may want to requet to resume treatment or seek additional support or other resources.

End Phase
